Procurement Manager

My client is a leading food business in the Devon area. Their Procurement Team is at the heart of maintaining the exceptional standards they’re known for – sourcing ethically, sustainably, and commercially.

They are currently restructuring their Supply Chain and Procurement functions to support future growth. As their new Direct Procurement Manager, you’ll take a pivotal role in shaping the way they source, building on their long-standing supplier relationships.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and develop the buying team, overseeing direct food products.
  • Manage supplier relationships, fostering long-term partnerships built on trust and shared success.
  • Drive strategic sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Take ownership of procurement budgets, processes, and compliance.
  • Analyse markets, manage risks, and proactively deliver improvements and cost savings.
What we’re looking for
  • Proven leadership experience in procurement, ideally within fresh produce, FMCG, or a related sector.
  • A strong track record of managing budgets and delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Experience building, developing, and leading a procurement team.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for analysis and forecasting.
  • Skilled in risk management, spend analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across all business levels.
  • CIPS Level 3 qualified (or equivalent).
