Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead a growing procurement function for a precision equipment manufacturer in the United Kingdom. You will own buying for a complex product range, build and coach a small team, and serve as the key link between suppliers, colleagues, and the design team.

You will translate demand forecasts into smart stock decisions, manage supplier risk, and explore cost-saving sourcing while maintaining performance.

Qualifications

• Several years' hands-on buying experience for complex, made-to-order products.
• Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience coaching a small team.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Build and steer a small purchasing team, providing direction and coaching.
• Translate demand forecasts into smart stock decisions to keep shelves full while managing cash.
• Monitor supplier risk and proactively plan mitigations.
• Collaborate with design to explore cost-effective parts or materials without compromising performance.
• Translate supplier capabilities into formal change requests and drive supplier onboarding.
