Job summary

BSI is seeking a Procurement Excellence Lead in London (hybrid) to shape and run the Group Procurement operating model. You will partner with senior stakeholders to standardise ways of working, governance, and digital enablement across Source-to-Contract and SRM, driving sustainable procurement and Scope 3 delivery.

You will own templates, tooling, and policy translation, ensuring auditable, scalable processes and robust delivery across the procurement function.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in procurement, procurement transformation or procurement operating model design.
• Strong understanding of Source-to-Contract, procurement governance, supplier management and audit requirements.
• Proven ability to design and embed standard ways of working, templates and toolkits at scale.
• Experience supporting or leading procurement digital enablement, including eSourcing, SRM, CLM or comparable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve end-to-end procurement ways of working across Source-to-Contract and Supplier Management.

• Ensure processes are proportionate to value and risk with audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

• Lead governance for SRM, including supplier segmentation, cadence, scorecards and escalation pathways.
• Oversee Scope 3 sustainability integration into sourcing and supplier engagement.

Job Title: Procurement Excellence Lead

Location: UK - London preferred (Hybrid)

Reports to: Group Head of Procurement

About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Excellence Lead to help shape how BSI's Group Procurement function operates as it continues its transformation.

Acting as a senior partner to the Group Head of Procurement, you will own the execution side of the procurement operating model - bringing consistency to ways of working, governance, digital enablement, templates, Supplier Relationship Management and the operational delivery of sustainable procurement and Scope 3 priorities.

This role is about making procurement easier to execute well: creating practical standards, tools and controls that are scalable, auditable and proportionate, while helping the function build confidence, capability and stronger day-to-day delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve end-to-end procurement ways of working across Source-to-Contract and Supplier Management.
• Translate procurement policy and strategy into practical guidance, clear roles, decision points and minimum standards that teams can apply consistently.
• Ensure procurement processes are proportionate to value and risk while supporting defensible decision-making, audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Act as business owner for procurement enablement and tooling, shaping requirements and driving adoption of eSourcing, SRM, CLM and related digital solutions.
• Own the procurement template and toolkit library, including RFx packs, pricing schedules, evaluation models, moderation packs and award documentation.
• Drive consistent use of standard sourcing approaches and act as a centre of expertise for complex or high-risk procurement activity.
• Lead the governance framework for Supplier Relationship Management, including supplier segmentation, governance cadence, scorecards and escalation pathways.
• Lead the operational enablement of Procurement's Scope 3 strategy, embedding sustainability considerations into sourcing, supplier engagement and SRM.
• Work closely with Sustainability, Finance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, IT and Transformation teams to align governance, data and control requirements.
• Define and track management information that demonstrates adoption, quality and maturity across procurement ways of working.
• Support the Group Head of Procurement with senior stakeholder, audit and governance materials and with the operational delivery of the procurement transformation roadmap.

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience in procurement, procurement transformation or procurement operating model design.
• Strong understanding of Source-to-Contract, procurement governance, supplier management and audit requirements.
• Proven ability to design and embed standard ways of working, templates and toolkits at scale.
• Experience supporting or leading procurement digital enablement, including eSourcing, SRM, CLM or comparable platforms.
• Experience enabling sustainable procurement or Scope 3 objectives through procurement processes and supplier engagement.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy and policy into practical execution.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to operate at senior leadership level.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to simplify complex requirements into usable guidance.
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.

Highly desirable

• Experience building procurement capability or learning frameworks.
• Experience operating in regulated, audit-focused or otherwise complex organisational environments.
• Continuous improvement, change or transformation experience.
