Job summary

Hackney Council is hiring a Procurement Category Officer to support the Property and Asset Management team with multi-million pound procurement projects. The post-holder will help ensure contracts are executed on schedule, deliver value for money, and comply with governance protocols including the Procurement Act 2023.

Experience in housing, construction, or related sectors is advantageous; familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in public procurement or local government procurement practices.
• Understanding of procurement governance and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement category manager across multiple projects.
• Draft tender and contract documents and manage contract awards.
• Lead on sourcing providers and project manage the procurement work-stream.
