The Procurement and Supply Chain Department at Homerton Healthcare Hospital is looking to appoint into its revised establishment, to support a modern, patient centric, customer focused service. Supporting the Deputy Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, the post holder will lead and manage the operational aspects of the team. This includes ensuring the day-to-day function operates smoothly and that any issues are dealt with in a proactive and positive manner and build on the success of North East London Health and Care Procurement Partnership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the operational aspects of the procurement and supply chain team, ensuring day-to-day function operates smoothly and issues are dealt with proactively.
  • Undertake, implement and monitor commercial and procurement activities and contracts that reduce non-pay expenditure across the Trust.
  • Provide excellent customer service, delivering a modern and professional procurement and supply chain service across the Trust.
  • Develop, support and deliver joint working with the North East London Health and Care Procurement and Partnership (NELHCPP), which includes BHR, BHT, ELFT and NELFT.
  • Develop commercial activities in line with best practice and ensure implementation across the Trust.
  • Identify non-pay savings schemes across the Trust and work with operational management to deliver these; promote a cost effective, responsive and efficient service to stakeholders.
  • Promote and maintain cost effective contracts and seek to agree advantageous terms.
  • Work closely with the clinical divisions to which the post is aligned, and support non-clinical / corporate activities where required.
