This key function is responsible for sourcing essential goods and services that keep the BBC running smoothly. The Commercial Procurement team serves as a strategic partner across all areas of the BBC, responsible for sourcing goods and services, managing key relationships with external suppliers and driving decarbonisation in our supply chain to enable the BBC to achieve its Net Zero targets. With a strong commercial and sustainability focus, our goal is always to deliver the best possible outcomes for the BBC.
As a Commercial Procurement Apprentice, you'll be involved in a wide range of activities. You'll collaborate with both the procurement team and the wider business to determine the most effective approach for each project. Your role will include conducting market research, analysing data to provide valuable insights, and preparing tender documentation. You'll support the development and execution of third‑party commercial strategies, learn how to assess and manage risk, embed environmental and social sustainability into our procurement decisions, and ensure compliance with public procurement regulations. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be guided and supported by our experienced and dedicated team.
We're looking for 2 apprentices based a commutable distance from either our Glasgow or Cardiff offices for this role.
You will study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you'll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 4 Procurement and Supply Chain Practitioner apprenticeship (aligned with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Diploma) with our learning provider, using its virtual delivery platform.

The BBC recognises that some people who are applying for a BBC Apprenticeship Scheme may need to relocate to a new location for the role and this might not be possible due to your personal financial constraints.
