Exciting opportunity for a Procurement and Plant Manager based in Inverurie. In this permanent role, you’ll take ownership of sourcing materials and managing plant hire for a range of construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency. Ideal for individuals with proven experience in construction procurement, supply chain coordination, and vendor negotiation.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive supplier database, regularly updating information to cover all operational needs.
  • Negotiating competitive rates for frequently used items and ensuring supplier accounts are processed promptly.
  • Sourcing materials and plant, securing best prices and rates through quotations and presenting comparisons for approval.
  • Coordinating with site and contract teams to manage requisitions, delivery schedules, and technical queries.
  • Overseeing the hiring and off-hiring of plant, monitoring usage and ensuring accurate records.
  • Managing stock levels, conducting weekly stock takes, and ensuring timely servicing of plant equipment.
  • Addressing any damages or disputes with suppliers, ensuring claims are supported and resolved efficiently.
  • Attending regular meetings and collaborating with Health & Safety and contract teams on risk-related plant hires.
  • Maintaining tidy storage areas and ensuring all deliveries are processed with correct documentation.
Applicants to this role require
  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or plant management, ideally within construction or related industries.
  • Strong negotiation and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
