Overview

I am recruiting for a Local Authority based in Greater London who are seeking a skilled Procurement & Contract Savings Consultant to lead targeted savings initiatives across third-party contracts.

This is a strategic role focused on identifying efficiencies, validating opportunities, and driving measurable cost reductions using advanced market intelligence and benchmarking tools.

Responsibilities
  • Review contracts approaching re‑procurement and assess existing agreements for in‑term savings potential
  • Leverage benchmarking insights to evidence and validate cost‑saving opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategies for contract consolidation, renegotiation, and enhanced supplier management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align savings with service delivery goals
  • Prepare robust business cases and recommendations for each contract reviewed
  • Promote knowledge transfer and leave a legacy of improved procurement intelligence and practice
Qualifications
  • Strong blend of commercial acumen and public sector experience
  • Proven expertise in public sector procurement, contract management, and strategic sourcing
  • Advanced analytical skills to assess spend data, benchmark against sector norms, and identify savings
  • Experience with market intelligence tools such as Oxygen Finance Insights (or similar)
  • Essential background in Local Authority environments, with a clear understanding of governance and service priorities
