Job Description

Equans is looking for a Procurement Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role, with a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

General Overview

The role of the Business Data Analyst is to design and develop analytics solutions across the P&C division. The solutions and services provided will require swift, data‑driven solutions to urgent problems with accuracy, covering delivery to multiple business functions across a full range of service lines. The output must be easily understood.

As a subject‑matter expert, part of the role will also be increasing the overall analytics capability within P&C, driving best practice in ways of working and assisting others with the use of technology.

What will you deliver?

This is an important role for the P&C Procurement Function – key to the wider Business Financial performance. Reporting to a Head of Procurement, this role is specifically responsible for:

  • Develop and design actionable data‑driven solutions delivering quantifiable benefits to the business.
  • Have a clear vision for how solutions will deliver benefit, taking stakeholders on a journey and aligning the solution development to a "to‑be" process that ensures value is captured in reality.
  • Work with the business to ensure data sources are accurate and reliable in order to support analysis work.
  • Help the business understand what data will be used for and advise on system requirements for the future.
  • Research techniques and methods being used within the industry to ensure the business keeps pace with developments in data science.

Who are we looking for?
Essential
  • Proven experience in a procurement, commercial, or analytical role within construction or a related industry.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, Excel/data, Power BI & Power Automate and PowerPoint reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement principles, tendering, and supplier management processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving ability with attention to detail.
Desirable
  • CIPS Level 3 or higher (or working towards).
  • Experience with procurement or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Evision).
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Supply Chain, or Construction Management.
  • Knowledge of relevant UK construction procurement regulations and frameworks.
