Job summary

Leonardo Helicopters is seeking a Procurement Account Manager to join the Procurement team at the Yeovil site. The role is a lead position with responsibility across the business, coordinating between buyers, programmes and other functions to secure on-time orders and data-driven reporting.

The role is hybrid with 2–3 days on site per week, offering exposure to budget, lead time, and quality assurances within a global high-tech organisation that designs and supports advanced helicopters.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assurances on budget, lead time and quality for procurement activities.
• Set up mechanisms to report progress monthly.
• Act as conduit between buyers, programmes and other functions to ensure timely orders and information flow.
• Own one or more customer projects from inception to completion as IPT lead for Procurement.
• Manage programme elements, support purchasing activities and manipulate data across systems to generate reports.
• Interface between Purchasing and the rest of the company, with on-site presence preferred but with flexible/hybrid working.

Join the Procurement team at Leonardo Helicopters, as a Procurement Account Manager. You will support a global high-tech organisation that designs, manufactures, and supports state-of-the-art helicopters from its Yeovil site.

Your Impact

This unique opportunity requires a varied and diverse skillset with an emphasis on Procurement; offering the opportunity to learn and develop with the dedicated team.

You will have exposure to a wide range of functions/ disciplines within the company to build a network in order to deliver the contract.

Internally titled Procurement Programmes Specialist, this is a lead role with significant responsibility and influence across the business.

For the awareness of internal applicants, this is a level 6 role on our Salary and Career Progression (S&CPF) framework.

This is a hybrid position, with a minimum of 2/3 days per week on site subject to business requirements.

What you will do as Procurement Account Manager

• You will be accountable to deliver assurances made by the purchasing team with regards to budget, lead time and quality as well as manage and deliver new development equipment.
• You will be required to set up mechanisms to be able to report progress on a monthly basis.
• You will be the conduit between the buyers, programmes and the other functions to ensure the buyers get what they need to be able to place orders on time, as well as ensuring the functions have all the information they need from Procurement.
• Any new items required by the customer, needing to be developed, will also sit under your accountability holding the purse strings for your allotted customer.
• You will be assigned one or more customer projects that you will own, from inception to completion, as the Integrated Project Team (IPT) lead for Procurement.
• You will manage elements of programmes, support purchasing activities and manipulate data across multiple systems to produce reports, without being dedicated specialist in any one area, in this varied and cross-functional role
• You are the main interface between purchasing and the rest of the company and this is most effective in person/on site however flexible working is available, giving you an opportunity to work from home.

What you'll bring

• You will represent Procurement within an Integrated Project Team so you will need to have knowledge of the procurement process
• Excellent interpersonal skills - confident, with the ability to get the information required and challenge where appropriate, whilst maintaining good relations working at many levels within the business
• Ability to independently manage a high workload in a pressured environment and prioritise effectively
• Keen and able, with support, to embrace new challenges and to learn new skills
• A competent user of MS Office applications and able to use MS Excel effectively - using Pivots, VLookups and some understanding of formulas is a 'must have' and ability to confidently manipulate large data sets to create reports essential.

Additional Experience (Desirable)

• Experience in managing similar activity in equivalent sector
• Knowledge or experience of the aerospace sector
• To have worked with SAP
