Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Process Technician to join the Stratford-based Operations team, focusing on strategic pumping stations and trunk sewers across North-East London. You will maintain plant equipment, carry out routine checks, and assist with larger projects.

Fully remote not required; candidates from other sectors are welcome. The role offers a competitive salary and structured training for long-term progression.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and disciplined with a desire to learn and a can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
• Proactive in suggesting improvements and taking responsibility for faults.
• Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures and to follow health and safety standards.
• Hold a full UK driving licence, enabling site-to-site travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Completing routine checks and basic preventative maintenance to ensure smooth pumping station operation.
• Monitoring plant performance, identifying trends and reporting issues.
• Undertaking health, safety and security checks.
• Reporting hazards, near misses and incidents; assisting with statutory testing where required.
• Operating large storm pumping stations and mechanical equipment safely.
• Carrying out confined space entries for inspections and fault finding.
• Providing guidance to new starters and existing colleagues.
• Participating in team meetings and safety briefings.
