About the role

We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team at Maple Lodge STW.

You do not need a background in the water industry. We welcome applications from candidates outside the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

This role is an essential front‑line position that the business simply cannot operate without. Every day is different: you will work in all weather conditions, carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the essential functions of our water treatment works operate to maintain supply to our customers and protect the environment. PPM of maintenance of equipment to support plant operation.

What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician
  • Operation of plant and equipment used in the treatment of groundwater to ensure it meets strict drinking water standards. Including cleaning, basic maintenance, routine checks and fault‑finding.
  • Monitoring, collating and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
  • Undertaking health & safety and security checks. Highlighting and reporting hazards, near‑misses and incidents; making the area safe, escalating any issues to your line manager as soon as possible.
  • Accurately reporting faults and recording work and asset information to improve business performance using a field laptop.
  • Receiving chemical deliveries, ensuring the correct checks and paperwork are completed.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to new starters as well as existing colleagues.
  • Attending all team meetings, engaging with safety briefings and company communications and raising constructive feedback with the management team, with suggestions for improvements.

Base Location: Maple Lodge STW – WD3 9SQ

Working Pattern: 38 hours Monday‑Friday 7:30 am – 15:36 pm plus standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase your earning potential upon completion of essential company training.

Due to the nature of this role you must hold a full UK driver’s licence.

What you should bring to the role

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

  • Self‑motivated, disciplined, and eager to learn from others – this role can be demanding at times but very rewarding.
  • Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
  • Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
  • Prepared to be trained in safety procedures and aware of health and safety standards.
  • Full UK driver’s licence.
