  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the plant.

Job description
Role Purpose

As a Process Operative you will play a crucial role in safely and efficiently operating our client’s plant to manufacture high‑quality products. You will be trained to operate various machinery while ensuring that quality standards are met. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team and develop your skills.

Duties
  • Safely operate presses, dryers and drums.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Complete accurate batch manufacturing records.
  • Wash and decant slurries while handling chemicals safely.
  • Weigh out ingredients per formulation sheets for customer orders.
  • Operate blending and milling equipment for uniform mixing.
  • Efficiently manage packing stations to present finished products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the plant, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
What You Bring
  • Strong attention to detail and conscientiousness regarding health and safety.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • A reasonable level of fitness for manual handling tasks.
  • Functional skills level 2 in Maths and English.
  • Experience in a relevant process industry (chemical, ceramics, food) is a plus.
Qualifications

Counterbalance FLT certificate is advantageous, but training can be provided.
Previous training in health and safety is a bonus.

Remuneration
  • Starting salary: £29,000 per annum (inclusive of shift pay)
  • Salary when fully trained: £33,500 per annum (inclusive of shift pay)
  • Company Pension: Yes, with employer contributions ranging from 4% to 8%.
