Job description
Process Reliability Engineer

Location: Hampshire (Hybrid – 2/3 days WFH, 2/3 days travelling to Hampshire sites or office-based)

Employment Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £50,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a Process Reliability Engineer to join our team in Hampshire. This role is key to driving asset reliability and reducing downtime across our wastewater operations. You will be instrumental in transitioning our maintenance approach from reactive to planned, supporting our AMP 8 investment period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) strategies to optimise asset performance.
  • Monitor and review maintenance strategies using asset performance data, surveillance, and KPI trending.
  • Conduct reliability studies including FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
  • Apply industry standards and best practices in asset engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and environmental standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation for reliability strategies, maintenance procedures, failure analysis, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in asset reliability.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of FMECA, RCA, and Reliability Block Diagrams
  • Proven experience in analysing, operating, and maintaining assets
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proven Industrial Qualification/Experience in Process Engineering discipline
  • Logical and analytical mindset with strong planning capabilities
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Background in wastewater operations, including equipment and process knowledge
  • Experience in driving reliability improvements within regulated environments
Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.

Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Hampshire sites and home.
