Job summary

Baxter Thetford is seeking a Process Operator to join the Viaflo Automated department. The role features rotating shifts (06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00), 42 hours per week, with a competitive training salary that increases after full training and a weekly shift allowance of £109.86.

Qualifications

• Experience in GMP environments (pharma, food, FMCG) is required.
• Proven experience operating manufacturing/processing equipment.
• Experience with batch processing, start-up/shutdown activities per procedures.
• Ability to adjust machine settings and perform troubleshooting as needed.
• Quality-focused, handles routine tasks with attention to detail.
• Works well in a team, shares workload and supports colleagues.
• Punctuality and good attendance are essential.
• Good level of English comprehension and communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintains line performance by adjusting machines within validated parameters.
• Performs daily and weekly cleaning of equipment and area.
• Participates in improvement programs and embraces new ways of working.
• Identifies quality defects and escalates issues to team leader.
• Supports rectifying issues as they arise.
• Follows EHS/GMP/GDP/company policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Operates per Baxter documentation procedures, ensuring timely, accurate batch paperwork.

Baxter Thetford are looking for Process Operator within Viaflo Automated department to join our fast-paced teams. This role is rotating shifts, Monday-Sunday between 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00 which is 42 hours per week. This could look like 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 nights on, 3 nights off etc.

Due to area expansion, we have various roles available within the Viaflo department and when interviewing you will be considered for all areas, so we are able to suggest an area which is best aligned to your skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains the optimum line performance throughout the shift by adjusting the machine within validated parameters
• Performs daily and weekly cleaning of the equipment and the area
• Be actively involved in improvement programs, demonstrating a willingness to embrace new ways of working
• Identifying quality defects and reject them as well as escalating issues to the team leader
• Supporting with rectifying issues when they arise
• Follow EHS/GMP/GDP/company and corporate policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Operate within the Baxter documentation procedures (BaxU) and requirements meeting all safety quality and performance guidelines, ensuring batch paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Experience required:

• Experience of working in a GMP environment (pharma, food, FMCG)
• Proven experience in operating manufacturing or processing equipment in a production environment
• Machine minder experience with a strong understanding of equipment performance and controls
• Awareness and experience of batch processing, including start-up and shutdown activities in line with procedural requirements
• Basic technical knowledge with the ability to support machine set-up and carry out troubleshooting activities where required
• Experience in machine adjustments and problem-solving is advantageous.
• Troubleshooting capability is highly desirable, particularly where supported by strong technical knowledge and understanding of equipment performance.
• Quality focused – able to deal with routine, repetitive tasks whilst maintaining good attention to detail
• Team Working - working as part of a team & sharing workload fairly with a willingness to work cooperatively and offer support in order to solve problems and achieve team targets
• Maintains high standards of behaviour whilst managing workload
• Flexible - able to carry out varied tasks often at short notice, adjust break timings around the production, work additional hours and adjust working hours as required by the business
• Ability to remain calm in a fast paced environment
• Punctuality is key as well as strong attendance
• Good standard of English comprehension
