About the company

ATA are supporting a multisite manufacturing group who are looking to add process improvement engineers to their central engineering function.

The group who has a 35% foothold within their market are a giant within the industry and have been going form strength to strength since their inception in the 60s, now turning over north of 300 million. The company employ over 2000 staff across the country and boast a portfolio of manufactured goods second to none. These goods are some of UKs most recognisable brands of which have become a staple part of the British construction market.

The central engineering function plays a critical role in providing 'hands on' technical support and expertise whilst driving plant operational improvement to each of the groups 15 sites.

About the role

This process improvement engineer vacancy will offer a varied and challenging working environment. You'll be given the responsibility and empowerment to stretch your problem-solving abilities, satisfying the natural curiosity that being an engineer brings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • This role includes travel across England to each of the group's sites.
  • Support senior leadership team with large scale projects such as brand-new site integration.
  • Lead projects from cradle to grave of a value up to 500k, delivering on time and within a controlled budget.
  • Identifying and eliminating recurring plant issues through engineering improvements.
  • Deliver improved plant reliability through various maintenance techniques.Working within a team to standardise process and machinery across all sites.
  • Becoming the subject matter expert for onsite maintenance.
  • Utilising advanced fault-finding tools such as thermographic surveys, vibration analysis, and non-destructive inspections.
  • Development of factory intelligence and other process automation.
About you

To be considered for this process improvement engineer role you should have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, gather consensus, influence and work with people at all levels.

  • You should have previous experience working within a similar capacity - Process improvement engineer, reliability engineer, continuous improvement engineer, or project engineer (Maintenance bias).
  • Technically, you should be strong mechanically with practical experience on hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Proven track record of making improvements, driving reliability and eliminating recurring faults.
  • Proactive mindset, able to take accountability for tasks and projects.
  • Experience with the management of projects from cradle to grave.
