Job description

A leading manufacturing company are looking for a skilled and analytical Process Improvement Engineer for their site in Central Birmingham.

The focus of the role is to drive efficiency, reliability, and performance across the manufacturing operations. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll combine engineering expertise with a passion for continuous improvement to deliver measurable results in quality, output, and cost reduction.

Key Tasks
  • Drive data‑driven initiatives to optimise production processes, eliminate waste, and enhance process control
  • Use lean manufacturing principles and root cause analysis techniques to identify bottlenecks, improve workflow, and build robust, repeatable systems that strengthen operational stability.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to implement engineering improvements, support standardisation through SOPs, and ensure sustainable change through training and coaching.

We’re looking for someone with strong problem‑solving capability, sound understanding of process engineering principles, and proven experience or knowledge of lean tools (Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5S, SPC, and visual management). Previous experience is ideal however applications are welcome from recent graduates (Manufacturing Engineer, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar).

The position is site based Monday to Friday and comes with an annual bonus, pension scheme up to 6%, private healthcare and 25 days holiday.
