Are you an experienced Process Engineer with a preference for clean water projects and a passion for sustainable solutions? Join Stantec and help us tackle the urgent water resource and climate change challenges facing our communities!

From preparing utilities for extreme low rainfall in the North to shaping the UK’s long‑term water supply resilience through water transfer, storage, and recycling projects in the South, our clean water process team is involved in impactful projects that truly matter for the communities we serve.

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our clean water team in the Midlands. This role can be based in Birmingham, Derby, or Redditch. Whether recently chartered or an expert, we want to hear from those excited to solve the water supply and resilience challenges facing the industry.

The projects will span new treatment plant design, long‑term strategic resource schemes, optimisation of existing assets, and the deployment of source‑to‑tap solutions for emerging threats such as PFAS. Day‑to‑day activities include onsite test work, new system design, and utility business plan support. As part of a global organisation, you’ll work on projects across the UK with a focus on clients in the North of England, Scotland, and Ireland, and benefit from our integrated “one team” approach.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in clean water process specialisms (design, science, or operation).
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn on‑site testing techniques (e.g., jar testing) to improve existing asset performance.
  • Collaborative teamwork and passion for innovation in the water sector.
  • Drive to apply best practices and deliver outstanding results.
Why Join Us?
  • Friendly, collaborative culture with a close‑knit team.
  • Award‑winning organisation – International Consulting Firm of the Year, Best Place to Work 2024, and top 10 Corporate Knights sustainable companies.
  • Competitive salary, pension, holidays, private medical insurance, discounted gym, and more.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Industry‑leading training, development, and professional subscription support.
  • Exciting projects across the UK and Ireland.
