Job summary

A leading technical recruitment agency is seeking a Process Engineer/Senior Process Engineer for projects in the water industry across the Thames Water Framework. You will manage high-quality design documents while coordinating with civil, mechanical, and environmental disciplines, ensuring all health and safety requirements are met. Overview

Position: Process Engineer/Senior Process Engineer

Location: Thames Water Framework

Rate Guide: 45,000 - 60,000 Plus Excellent Package

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for Thames Water and they are recruiting for an Process Engineers and Senior Process Engineer to help deliver a challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes valued at over 400M.

Responsibilities
  • Produce high quality standard process design documents and drawings, such as process calculations, P&IDs, PFD, and control philosophy, taking due account of health & safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.
  • Meet the regulations and the client standards requirements on each of your project.
  • Conduct and co-ordinate studies related to Process Safety, which is a critical element of our design and requirement from the client.
  • Work and co-ordinate the design with the other disciplines (civil, mechanical, EICA, environmental) for producing a complete design on your different projects.
  • Assist the other disciplines in their design production and technical specifications with any input related to process and Process Safety. Being at the interface of all the disciplines, this includes developing trust and synergy between all the members of the team.
  • Provide active support to the delivery, commissioning and the management teams on technical issues with the best effective solution.
  • Provide feedback to your Regional Discipline Lead and the Design Manager of each of your projects.
  • Provide effective design which considers the whole out-turn cost of the solution, including design time costs, material costs, erection costs and any impact that the design solution might have on other disciplines.
  • Assist the design manager on the different deliverables at different design stages.
  • Provide support to Graduates and help during their development scheme.
  • Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
  • Assist the management team to instil a culture where satisfying the customer is recognized as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.
  • Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Knowledge of clean water, wastewater, re-use and/or sludge treatment process design.
  • Proven track record of developing process calculations such as mass balance, energy balance, hydraulic calculations.
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure.
  • Autonomy and organisation for meeting deadlines and milestones on projects.
  • Ability to communicate within and outside of the project and the process team.
  • Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic process design.
