Halewood Transmissions is undergoing a massive, £355m transformation to become Ford's first European site to manufacture electric power units. This is your chance to join the Manufacturing Engineering team at the ground floor of this monumental shift, driving the processes that will define the next generation of automotive manufacturing.

We are seeking a Process Engineer specialising in Machining to deliver world-class production standards for our new Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrain components.

Salary: £40,245.53 - £62,953.73 (inclusive of generous holiday bonus).

Working hours: Mon-Thurs 7:00-15:30, Fri 7:00-12:30

🔧 Your Mission: Precision & Transformation

You will be the process owner within the Gears Machining Team, ensuring every component meets Ford's exacting standards as we transition to EV production. This role is about more than maintenance, it's about continuous improvement and innovation in a demanding, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Ownership: Develop, maintain, and optimise conventional machining processes (e.g., Turning, Grinding).
  • Project Leadership: Manage major capital projects from conception to delivery, ensuring safety, cost, and strict engineering standards are met.
  • Innovation: Implement cost‑improvement actions, drive efficiency, and introduce innovative solutions for engineering challenges.
  • Collaboration: Integrate seamlessly with cross‑functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Management) to deliver best‑in‑class results.
What You Bring
  • Essential: Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering and demonstrable, relevant experience.
  • Machining Expertise: Solid background in conventional machining. Experience with specialised gear processes (Hobbing, Honing, Helical Grinding, Laser Welding) is a significant advantage.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project and change management is essential.
  • Problem Solver: Skilled in using tools like 8Ds, 5 Why, and 6‑Sigma to tackle complex problems.
