gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a Process Liaison Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City

Performance Objectives
  • Lead problem solving activities and apply problem-solving methodologies (5Y, 8D, Fishbone etc) to define and solve problems at root cause as a method of improving operational performance, in particular on process capability and quality problems.
  • Participate in problem-solving peer reviews, training and awareness activities to help the organisation develop a strong problem-solving culture.
  • Implement and/or project manage problem solutions through (but not limited to) working with external suppliers, working with customers, proving out improved technologies and programmes, completing Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities, etc.
  • Support Engineers, technicians and area leads on process stability and improvement activities.
  • Support the updating of manufacturing documentation such as stage drawings, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc.
  • Monitoring the resolution of identified problems (Internal & external) and ensuring that the new standards determined by this solution are maintained.
  • Participate in the Daily Operations meeting and relevant Standard Diary meetings, taking ownership of assigned problems for resolution.
  • Ensure delivery of any action under the scope of the role are delivered on time, within budget, and comply to customer specification.
  • Support operator training and development exercises including 'toolbox talks' and quality alerts.
  • Improving investigation, problem-solving and follow-up of Quality issues (guide and coach correct behaviours, stop repetitive issues and identify potential causes of issues before they happen).
