Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a proven Process Engineer to join one of our key clients on a long‑term contract basis. As Process Engineer you’ll become part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering high‑impact projects.

Responsibilities
  • Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of nuclear infrastructure design substantiation documents
  • Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of design changes/concessions
  • Presentation of design substantiations to ‘Due Process’ nuclear safety committees
  • Production and development of Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules, operating procedures and results to satisfy design requirements and safety case through life
  • Producing/assessing periodic review of safety reports
  • Providing advice and direction to internal and external stakeholders
  • Production of Independent Technical Assessment (ITA)/Independent Peer Review (IPR) scopes of work
  • Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology
  • Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, maintain, decommission and re‑cycle engineering processes, systems, services and products in a nuclear/high risk environment
  • Producing robust technical justification to allow for relevant design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry
  • Review technical reports and other safety case submissions from external contractors
  • Check and review calculations and technical documents written by other members of staff
Qualifications
  • Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in process design, development, and optimisation
  • Proven experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience with commissioning, decommissioning, or modification of nuclear facilities
  • Knowledge of fluid systems, heat transfer, chemical reactions, and control systems
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Ability to work in multi‑disciplinary teams and interface with stakeholders across engineering, safety, and operations
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a contract setting
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
  • Chartered status or working towards
  • Experience working in the nuclear sector
