Process Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer

Required to join a manufacturer automotive electronics, components and PCB (Printed circuit boards) in Birmingham.

The successful Process Engineer will work across traditional automotive processes and new EV technologies, optimising manufacturing operations and leading the introduction of new equipment and process improvements.

You’ll have a background in process engineering and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment, preferably with knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB), electronics, batch production, chemical handling, or automotive manufacturing.

  • Based in Birmingham
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes from concept to certification
  • Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing – using Six Sigma and quality improvement tools
  • Assess production processes, conduct measurements, and interpret data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Design, run, test, and upgrade mechanical and automated systems, including chemical and batch operations
  • Drive introduction and commissioning of new equipment
  • Create clear documentation, SOPs, and process control plans
  • Implement and maintain 5S methodology across production areas
  • Liaise with various engineering departments - Quality, Production, and Design Engineering
  • Site based in Birmingham
Requirements
  • Process/production improvement experience
  • HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical engineering, Industrial, production engineering, process engineering, Chemical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer or similar
  • Proven experience in process optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Exposure to printed circuit board (PCB), electronics, batch production, chemical handling, or automotive manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality improvement tools
  • Must be commutable to Birmingham
