The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has become available for a proven Process Engineer to join one of our key clients on a long-term contract basis. As Process Engineer you’ll become part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

• Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of nuclear Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents
• Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of design changes / concessions
• Presentation of Design substantiations, to ‘Due Process’ nuclear safety committees
• Production and development of Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) Schedule, operating procedures and results to satisfy design requirements and safety case through life
• Producing / assessing Periodic Review of Safety reports
• Providing advice and direction to internal and external stakeholders
• Production of Independent Technical Assessment (ITA) / Independent Peer Review (IPR) Scopes of work
• Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology
• Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, maintain, decommission and re-cycle engineering processes, systems, services and products in a nuclear / high risk environment
• Producing robust technical justification to allow for relevant design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry
• Review technical reports and other safety case submissions from external contractors
• Check and review calculations and technical documents written by other members of staff

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in process design, development, and optimisation
• Proven experience working in a highly regulated environment
• Experience with commissioning, decommissioning, or modification of nuclear facilities.
• Knowledge of fluid systems, heat transfer, chemical reactions, and control systems.
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and interface with stakeholders across engineering, safety, and operations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a contract setting.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Additional Desired Qualifications

• Chartered status or working towards
• Experience working in the nuclear sector
