Job summary

A manufacturing firm is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Leeds. The successful candidate will ensure machinery functionality through preventative and reactive maintenance, coordinate projects, and enhance production efficiency. Ideal applicants will have a background in engineering and 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a high-volume / FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance of all production machinery—plan, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot.
  • Coordinate small projects to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Train production staff on new systems, processes, and safety protocols.

Job description

Zenith People have recently partnered with our client who are a manufacturer searching for forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. If you're passionate about machinery and thrive in fast-paced environments, this could be the job for you!

This is an excellent opportunity to become key member of the Engineering Team within a High Volume, Fast-Moving Manufacturing plan. The main purpose of the role being to ensure that machinery & equipment in working order involving carrying out preventative & reactive hands-on maintenance on machinery, leading projects, and supporting the facility with your technical knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Own the performance of all production machinery—plan, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot to keep operations smooth and efficient.
  • Coordinate small projects to enhance manufacturing processes, introduce new equipment, and scale production.
  • Train production staff on new systems, processes, and safety protocols to build a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
  • HNC / HND in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or NVQ Level 3
Experience
  • 5+ years in a high-volume / FMCG manufacturing environment
Additional Knowledge & Experience
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
  • Hands on experience carrying out Mechanical or Electrical preventative & reactive maintenance on a wide range of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment throughout the plant.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, quality control, and continuous improvement
  • Strong command of health & safety regulations and risk management
  • Excellent communicator and team collaborator
