Overview

On behalf of our client, Controlled Molding, Inc. (CMI), a trusted leader in injection molding located in Hadley, PA, Decision Associates is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support its injection molding operations. This position is responsible for process auditing, mold setup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a hands-on approach and a demonstrated background in plastics processing.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct process audits and implement corrective actions to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Perform mold setup, shutdown, and adjustments in accordance with safety and ISO standards.
  • Operate molding machines and auxiliary equipment, ensuring compliance with documented procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues, coordinating with production, tooling, and quality teams.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, including cycle time reduction and scrap reduction.
  • Document process data, analyze results, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO quality standards and GMP regulations.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to team leads and technicians; assume supervisory responsibility for 4–6 direct reports as the role develops.
  • Support Engineering in the design and development of new products.
  • Provide technical support for customer requirements and complaint resolution.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in plastics processing, including injection molding operations.
  • Technical proficiency in mold setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality systems, GMP regulations, and related procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
  • Degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is advantageous but not required if experience demonstrates competency.
