Veolia Environmental Services (UK) Plc in Birmingham is seeking a Process Engineer to join our water technologies team. The role is based in Birmingham with hybrid working, full-time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours, offering a competitive salary and benefits.

• Supporting commissioning and service teams to optimise plants and resolve issues.

What will I be doing?

• Supporting Sales, Marketing and Tendering departments with regards to pre-qualification, proposals and post tender submissions such as technical presentations.
• Ensuring that available standard technical information, documentation details and drawings are used to design; consider feedback of previous contractors (e.g. information available from commissioning).
• Preparation and validation (internal or via VWT) of controlled process design documentation (e.g. Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID diagrams, process control philosophy) in compliance with relevant design standards, statutory obligations and regulations.
• Supporting commissioning and service teams with regards to optimising plants and resolving process issues.
• Supervising Design Engineers, Group Leaders and CAD Designers during proposal design period and ensuring that programmed and design requirements are achieved.
• Ensuring that the products and system design will not give rise to harm when operated within the recommended parameters.
• Ensuring that the products and systems designed meet current Health and Safety legislation in all markets in which the product or system is to be sold.
• Providing adequate information describing the correct safe operation of the product or system, highlighting any risks associated with its operation or maintenance.
• Providing documented design risk assessments where appropriate to demonstrate that risks arising in system implementation have been identified and addressed.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Chemical/Waste Water Engineering, with 2+ years of practical knowledge gained through similar experience.
• Experience in Water/ Wastewater Treatment.
• Desirable: PC / IT literate - preferably Google Suite.
• Strong commissioning capabilities and prior hands-on experience.
• Experience with cloud based process control and monitoring platforms will be considered as an advantage.
