Job summary

Greencore is hiring a Process Development professional in Wisbech to lead manufacturing projects, conduct line trials, and ensure adherence to customer specs and food safety standards. You will liaise with cross-functional teams to implement new processes and improvements, supporting product labelling accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in food science or related subject plus relevant work experience in food manufacturing
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene
  • Level 2 Health and safety
  • Level 2 HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • Level 2 Sensory Training
  • Level 2 Microbiological training
  • Experience evaluating shelf-life results
  • Experience interpreting customer codes of practice
  • Experience using various computer programs and analysing project results
  • Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and retailer systems desirable
  • Understanding of technology relevant to the business area and KPIs
  • GMP, hygiene principles, legal labelling, and weight legislation understanding

Responsibilities

  • Carry out manufacturing projects to deliver process development and line trials
  • Provide information to support customer and factory specifications for product labelling
  • Plan, prepare and execute process development and line trials to meet customer requirements
  • Provide process guidance to cross-functional teams to promote new practices
  • Monitor process trends to meet launch dates and optimize processes
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement projects and trials
  • Ensure line trial outputs are documented with food safety and quality adherence
  • Assess equipment capability to meet standards and drive improvements
  • Maintain safe working environment in line with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy

What you’ll be doing
Due to an internal move we have a Process Development vacancy within the team!
  • Carry out all relevant manufacturing projects to deliver process development and line trials successfully.
  • Provide information to support the creation of customer and factory specifications which lead to the production of accurate and appropriate product labelling information
  • Responsible for the planning, preparation and successful execution of process development and line trials to deliver customer requirements and process improvements
  • Provide process guidance and advice to crossfunctional manufacturing teams to promote adoption of new practices or process for increased efficiency
  • Monitor and communicate process trends to ensure launch date adherence, maximum process optimisation and effective communication to customers
  • Challenge and investigate potential continuous improvement projects and facilitate relevant trials to drive process and product enhancements opportunities
  • Ensure the output of all line trials are fully documented with adherence to food safety, quality standards and customer requirements are met
  • Assessment of equipment capability to ensure that process standards are in line with company and customer requirements to drive improvements
  • Ensure that a safe working environment exists for colleagues and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the Health, Safety and Environment Policy

  • Ideally educated to degree level in a food science or related subject, plus relevant working experience within a food manufacturing environment
  • Relevant qualifications essential such as Level 3 Food Hygiene, Level 2 Health and safety, Level 2 Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), Level 2 Sensory Training and Level 2 Micro biological training
  • Experienced in evaluation and interpretation of shelf-life results
  • Experienced in interpretation of customer codes of practice
  • Experienced working with different types of computer programmes and can demonstrate experience analysing project results
  • Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and a variety of retailer web-based systems is desirable
  • Understanding of technology relevant to business area and area of responsibility and a demonstratable understanding of technical key performance indicators
  • Can demonstrate the following skills and experiences, GMP knowledge of techniques, basic hygiene principles, basic legal labelling, and basic knowledge of weight legislation
