Salary: Up to £55,000 dependant on experience.

Qualification: 2:1 or above degree in an Engineering related subject area.

THE ROLE

A vacancy has arisen for a Process Control Engineer based in Lathom, near Ormskirk, reporting to the Team Leader of the Process Control Team within the Research & Development (R&D) Function. If you're excited by cutting-edge technology and thrive on solving complex challenges, this could be the perfect role for you. The R&D Process Control Team is responsible for the development, rollout and support of automatic inspection and process control systems across the NSG Group and licensee operations worldwide. The instrumentation and software solutions developed by the team are vital to our manufacturing operations for measurement, quality control and process control purposes and are strongly aligned with the Groups VA and Digitalisation strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Create and enhance process control systems from concept through to implementation.
  • Work across SCADA development, PLC programming, and advanced control techniques from PID loops to AI and machine learning.
  • Develop and implement inspection systems and instruments to maintain top-tier product and process quality.
  • Partner with R&D and production teams to identify and deliver process improvements safely and effectively.
  • Provide both on-site and remote technical support, while upgrading and maintaining existing systems.
  • Be open to occasional overseas travel as part of your role.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and innovations in process control.
