Job summary

Ark St Alban's Academy in Birmingham is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to maintain high-quality learning when teachers are absent. You will supervise classes, oversee work set by teachers and foster a calm, safe learning environment across year groups.

The role involves supporting pupils, encouraging engagement, managing behaviour and contributing to pastoral and admin tasks as needed. Training and progression within the Ark network are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people.
• Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships and high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across different subjects and year groups and oversee work set by teachers.
• Create a calm, safe and purposeful classroom environment and promote positive behaviour.
• Support small-group interventions, pastoral duties, detentions, trips and admin tasks when not covering lessons.
• Liaise with teaching and curriculum staff to track pupil progress and outcomes.
