Job description

Our client is an international, alternative asset manager that sits in the credit space. With offices in London, New York and Abu Dhabi, this organisation takes an entrepreneurial and opportunistic approach to investments, across long / short credit, structured credit, direct lending and asset-backed finance.

The business is going from strength to strength, and in line with this growth they are looking to hire a mid-level private funds lawyer to take on a broad role, joining a legal team of 5 in the Central London headquarters of the organisation.

Candidates must have buy-side in-house experience, ideally in the credit space, from a relevant alternative investment manager / hedge fund.

The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel, and occupy a broad, and varied role, supporting the funds area of the business, including :

  • Leading on fund formation, structuring and maintenance across all aspects of the business’ funds offering (encompassing open and closed-ended vehicles, co-investments and SMAs);
  • Drafting and managing fund documentation e.g. investment management agreements, LPAs etc;
  • Legal management of fund platforms domiciled in jurisdictions like Delaware / Cayman and Luxembourg, providing regulatory oversight and governance when required;
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of transactional / trading documentation e.g. ISDAs GMRAs, prime brokerage and custody / collateral arrangements;
  • Taking an active role on the formation of legal templates and playbooks, to support future business growth.

The most attractive element of this position is the business itself, which is performing very well and in an exciting time of international expansion. Consequently, applicants must be able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment and have the drive and energy to match the forward trajectory of this business.

Our client will offer a competitive base salary, discretionary bonus and benefits package.
