Job summary

Macquarie Group in London seeks a Senior Associate for the Specialised Asset Finance team to execute asset-based investments across the capital structure, from senior secured debt to structured equity, across sectors including digital infrastructure, energy, and financial services.

You will underpin underwriting, financial analysis, and industry research, with pathways to leadership as the team grows, and the role offers a flexible mandate and opportunities to invest across the capital structure.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of relevant experience in principal investments or related private credit roles.
• Strong financial, valuation, and credit analysis skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in a financial product and ability to learn other asset classes.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and macro/micro economics.
• Outstanding English written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent academic record.
• Working proficiency in European languages is a plus.

Join Macquarie’s Specialised Asset Finance, opportunistic asset-based finance team to focus on execution of asset-based finance investments across the capital structure in multiple formats, from senior secured debt through structured equity – across various sectors including digital infrastructure, energy, industrials, consumer, financial services and other sectors, focusing on opportunities from EUR 50-250M+.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Associate will have the opportunity to work on a strong pipeline of transactions as a principal investor. You will play a key role in our underwriting process, financial analysis, industry research, and shepherding investments through the internal approval process. You will be part of growing team which provides significant opportunities to take on leadership roles and to have a key role in driving transactions. Our flexible mandate means that while the focus will be credit investments, you will gain experience investing across the capital structure.

What You Offer

• 3-4 years of relevant experience working in a principal investment role, in private credit, opportunistic credit, infrastructure debt, financial advisory, or related financial services such as restructuring, or similar
• Excellent financial, valuation, and credit analysis skills
• Demonstrated excellence in a relevant financial product, and the intellectual curiosity and capability to develop knowledge in other asset classes
• An understanding and interest in financial markets and macro and micro economic
• Outstanding English written and verbal communication skills
• An outstanding academic record
• Working proficiency in European languages considered a strong plus
