Job summary

Baillie Gifford Group is seeking a Private Companies Valuations Analyst in Edinburgh to drive valuations for private assets. You will develop and maintain valuation models, challenge third-party proposals, and coordinate information from investee companies and auditors.

You will collaborate with investment teams and external boards, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and contributing to continuous improvement in valuation processes and data automation.

Qualifications

• Experience valuing private or other illiquid investments.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to challenge assumptions.
• Adept in using Excel, Power BI and automating processes across valuation workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Check accuracy and integrity of third-party valuation reporting.
• Prepare and maintain internal valuation models for validation and portfolio reviews.
• Collaborate with investee companies and investment teams for information exchange.
• Monitor valuation timetable with third-party provider and coordinate data flow.
• Present valuation proposals to the Valuation Group and boards of directors.
• Assist with audits of private company investments across BG’s client base.
