Job summary

Taxation in Edinburgh or Glasgow is recruiting an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to lead tax planning and advisory work for HNWIs, OMBs and business owners within a Top 10 accountancy firm.

You will manage a portfolio, supervise junior staff, sign off compliance, and contribute to complex matters including IHT, CGT, trusts, non-doms and residency issues, with hybrid working 2–3 days in the office. Excellent progression opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• UK Private Client tax experience, managing a portfolio of UK clients.
• Private Client tax advisory experience is desirable but a compliance specialist who wants more advisory exposure would also be suitable as they can offer support.
• Experience managing junior staff and coaching/development.

Responsibilities

• Work in an experienced private client advisory team focusing on tax planning and tax advisory.
• Manage a varied portfolio including HNWIs, OMBs, business owners, partnerships, and rental portfolios.
• Sign off on tax compliance and supervise juniors while handling more complex matters.

We are currently working with a Top 10 Accountancy firm who are looking to bring in an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to work in either their Edinburgh or Glasgow office.

A strong regional Private Client Tax team of 8 people, including a Director, Managers, Assistant Managers and Associates, meaning plenty of room for progression for the right person.

Your new role:

• You'll be working in an experienced private client advisory team as a Private Client Tax Manager, focusing on tax planning & tax advisory.
• The portfolio is a varied one where you will be working with HNWIs, OMBs, Business Owners, Partnerships, Investment portfolios, and rental portfolios.
• As a Manager you'll be managing a portfolio and team, signing out tax compliance and getting involved in more complex matters. You'll be supported by a team of juniors and a compliance centre.
• In terms of advisory you'll be supporting clients with a range of planning matters including IHT, CGT, Trusts, Non Doms, Residency matters and other shareholder matters to name a few examples.

What you'll need to be successful:

• ACA, ATT, CTA, ACCA qualified
• UK Private Client tax experience, managing a portfolio of clients across the UK.
• Private Client tax advisory experience is desirable but a compliance specialist who wants more advisory exposure would also be suitable as they can offer support.
• Previous experience managing junior members of staff and coaching/development.
