Job summary

PRO TAX in Peterborough is seeking a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join our growing Private Client Tax team on a hybrid basis. You will manage a diverse portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts and estates, and support on advisory projects.

The ideal candidate will be CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with demonstrable personal tax experience, strong client relationships, and a proactive, commercially aware approach.

Qualifications

• CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Experience in personal tax, ideally private client work.
• Strong client relationship management and high-quality service delivery.
• Solid technical knowledge across personal tax matters.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication, with a commercial mindset.
• Experience supervising or supporting junior team members (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely compliance.
• Preparing, reviewing, and submitting personal tax returns.
• Advising clients on a wide range of personal tax matters.
• Handling trusts and estates work, including IHT reporting.
• Managing HMRC enquiries and investigations.
• Supporting advisory projects, including inheritance tax planning and structures.
• Exposure to international and cross-border tax matters.
• Identifying advisory opportunities and supporting business development.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Assisting senior stakeholders on complex client work.
