Job summary

Insite Group, a reputable practice, is seeking a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager in Cambridge. The role involves ownership of a Private Client Tax portfolio, managing client relationships, and leading a small team with advisory and tax compliance responsibilities.

Hybrid working and flexitime are available. The ideal candidate has Private Client/Personal Tax experience within an accountancy practice, strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, and the ability to manage complex client needs.

Qualifications

• Private Client Tax or Personal Tax experience in accounting practice.
• Ability to research and interpret UK tax legislation.
• Experience reviewing and/or supervising junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of Private Client Tax clients, including complex cases.
• Build long-term client relationships and understand client circumstances.
• Manage deadlines, deliverables and changes in scope.
• Attend pre-year-end/completion meetings where appropriate.
• Support fee discussions and pricing for non-complex work.
• Review personal tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage full compliance cycle for your portfolio.
• Prepare technical advice on complex tax matters for senior staff review.
• Conduct research on UK tax legislation to support colleagues and clients.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and professional standards.
• Line-manage junior team members and conduct performance reviews.
• Assist in interviewing and selecting new junior staff.
• Lead and coach colleagues to optimize performance.
• Identify scope changes and price accordingly.
• Monitor WIP and draft fees for approval.
• Contribute to bids and wider business development.
