Job summary

Blusource, an accountancy firm serving Belper, Ripley, Derby, Matlock and Ashbourne, seeks a Tax Accountant focused on personal/private client tax. The role can be full-time or part-time with generous hybrid working and substantial home-based hours. It involves Self Assessment, corporate tax work, and advisory duties, with potential for some bookkeeping in Xero.

The ideal candidate has experience in an accountancy practice, from Senior to Manager level, and can tailor the role to fit strengths.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice with personal/private client tax knowledge.
• Ability to handle Self Assessment Tax Returns and HMRC submissions.
• Advising clients on personal and business tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Self Assessment Tax Returns for a range of clients (sole traders, partnerships, directors).
• Compute corporation tax and submit tax returns to HMRC.
• Calculate capital gains tax and submit relevant forms.
• Advise clients on personal and business tax matters.
• Prepare Trust Tax Returns and IHT where applicable.
• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies; support tax computations.
• If needed, assist with bookkeeping using Xero and prepare VAT returns.
