Job description

We are working with a respected law firm in Taunton seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Private Client Solicitor to join their established team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor with strong technical expertise and a passion for client care to manage a varied caseload of probate and estate matters within a supportive and collaborative environment, reporting to the Head of Private Client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction to completion.
  • Provide specialist advice on wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy matters.
  • Draft, review, and execute legal documents including wills, trust deeds, and related instruments.
  • Liaise effectively with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other relevant parties.
  • Prepare applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and SRA requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional client service and build lasting relationships.
  • Support business development and networking initiatives where appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Solicitor with proven probate and estate administration experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wills, trusts, probate, and estate planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • STEP qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
Soft Skills:
  • Clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation abilities.
