A leading law firm in Cornwall and Devon, with over 275 years of history, is looking to expand its well-regarded Private Client team. This established firm, recognised for its strong regional presence, seeks a Private Client Lawyer to provide expert advice on a range of services, including Wills, Estate Administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Elderly Client matters.

The team, described by Chambers and Partners as "winning plaudits for its wills, trust, and probate work," offers a dynamic and collaborative environment with a focus on personal development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and advise on a broad spectrum of Private Client matters, with an emphasis on Wills, Estate Administration, Elderly Client issues, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
  • Handle a varied caseload, ensuring the highest standards of service and advice for clients.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients, delivering clear and compassionate legal guidance.
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive, experienced team, while maintaining the ability to work independently.


Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives, or Lawyers/Paralegals with Private Client experience (3+ years post-qualification preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal principles surrounding Wills, Estate Administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Elderly Client matters.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in drafting legal documents.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel within the county when needed.
