Private Client Solicitor

Location: Monmouthshire / Wye Valley (South Wales Border)
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (initial on-site expectation)

About the Role

You’ll be joining a well-established, forward-thinking regional practice known for quality private client work and long-standing local relationships. The team advises a loyal client base drawn from professionals, business owners and families across South Wales and the border counties, and is supported by experienced legal assistants and modern case systems.

This opportunity offers a clear pathway to lead the department. You’ll take ownership of a varied caseload and play a key role in shaping the private client offering as the team continues to grow.

The role will involve:
  • Managing a mixed caseload of wills, probate, estate administration, LPAs and Court of Protection matters.
  • Delivering clear, empathetic advice on tax-efficient lifetime and succession planning.
  • Building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships across the local community.
  • Contributing to process improvements, supervision and workflow planning as the team scales.
  • Supporting business development and thought-leadership initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Be a qualified Solicitor with experience in private client work (STEP exposure or interest advantageous).
  • Demonstrate strong technical drafting skills and confident file management.
  • Show excellent client care, communication and a proactive, organised approach.
  • Have the ambition to take on greater responsibility, with a view to progressing into a Head of Department position.
