Overview

Join one of the largest and most respected Private Wealth teams outside London. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Private Client Senior Associate or Salaried Partner to join a Tier 1-ranked Private Wealth department in Manchester city centre. You’ll join a dynamic, 40-strong team that works with high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, landowners and entrepreneurs across the UK and internationally. The department is growing and has two exciting new opportunities at Solicitor and Senior Solicitor level, as part of a continued strategic expansion.

You’ll work on a broad range of technically challenging and rewarding matters, including succession planning, inheritance tax mitigation, trusts, family investment companies and the administration of HNW estates. You’ll be given plenty of autonomy and support in a culture that encourages collaboration, idea-sharing and personal development.

Who we’re looking for

• 6+ years’ PQE in private client work
• Senior Associate or Salaried Partner level
• Strong technical experience in:
  • HNW succession and estate planning
  • Inheritance tax mitigation
  • Estate administration
  • Trust structuring and taxation
• Experience supervising junior fee earners
• A client following or strong market connections
• Experience advising on charity formation and administration, income and CGT
• STEP qualification

What you’ll be doing

• Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and business owners
• Deliver bespoke legal and tax planning advice in complex lifetime and death estates
• Draft wills, trusts, family investment companies and related structures
• Supervise junior lawyers and support their technical development
• Work with intermediaries including private banks, accountants and IFAs
• Contribute to business development and the growth of the Manchester practice

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: Dependent on experience and seniority
• Location: Manchester City Centre (Spinningfields), hybrid working available (typically 1 day WFH)
• Holiday: Minimum 25 days, increasing with service, plus office closure at Christmas
