Job summary

Birketts is a full service UK Top 50 law firm with a dedicated Private Client Advisory team in Norwich. We are seeking an Associate with 3–6 years PQE to handle high‑net‑worth tax, trusts and estate planning, Will/LPAs, and estate administration. The role emphasises client service, commercial judgement and proactive relationship building.

We offer a hybrid working model with a mix of office and home days, and a strong emphasis on professional development, client focus and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years PQE in private client work.
• Ability to draft complex documents with senior guidance.
• Experience in taxation and succession planning for high-net-worth clients.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and case management tools.
• Strong client service and business development acumen.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating on relevant contracts, documents, advice notes, letters and correspondence tailored to the client’s individual needs and requirements.
• Providing taxation and succession planning advice to a broad range of clients, including those with a high net worth comprised of a mix of relievable and non-relievable assets.
• Drafting Wills, trust documents, LPAs, deeds, advice notes, letters and correspondence tailored to the client’s individual needs and requirements.
• Dealing with estate administration.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships, and identifying opportunities to add value.
• Participating in marketing and networking initiatives.
• Ownership of personal financial performance, demonstrating accountability and a commercial mindset.
