JMC Legal Recruitment is representing a Top 100 firm in Bristol, seeking a Private Client Associate with 2+ PQE to join a busy private capital team handling complex succession planning and wealth protection for high-net-worth individuals.

The Role

You will join the firm's wider Private Capital team in Bristol, working on a top tier private client caseload for private individuals, farmers, entrepreneurs and other business owners. These are clients with diverse assets who need complex succession planning and wealth protection arrangements rather than standard estate planning.

The work is varied and you will have a good level of autonomy from the outset, working alongside experienced private client lawyers in an inclusive environment where developing your technical ability is taken seriously.

Your caseload will include:

• Estate planning advice and related wills and trust documents for high net worth, entrepreneurial and international clients
• Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Inheritance tax and capital gains tax advice within estate planning
• Pre exit planning for business owners
• Creation, management and winding up of trusts, with a dedicated Trust Management team handling day to day compliance and administration
• Deeds of variation, including discretionary trust arrangements and loans
• Working alongside clients' financial planners across a broad range of financial products

Your Experience

• Private Client Solicitor at 2+ PQE
• Experience of complex succession planning and wealth protection for clients with diverse assets
• Highly meticulous, commercially focused and outcome orientated
• A track record in business development and outstanding client care
• STEP qualified or working towards it is advantageous, but not a prerequisite
