Job summary

Irwin Mitchell LLP in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Associate to support and drive the growth plan of the Sheffield Private Client team, advising high net worth individuals on wills, trusts, and tax planning.

You will work with one of the UK's largest private client teams, gain exposure to high quality matters, and have the freedom to develop areas of interest within Private Client, including a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Must have solid experience advising on complex wills and lifetime trusts.
• STEP qualified or currently pursuing STEP qualification.
• Strong knowledge of IHT, trust taxation and estate administration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and external professionals.
• BD aptitude and existing client/referrer relationships in the Sheffield Private Client market is a plus.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

This is an integral role to support with and drive the ambitious growth plan of our Sheffield team.

The team advises high net worth individuals and families on the legal and tax aspects of estate and succession planning and tax planning.

You will have exposure to great quality work, access to one of the largest national Private Client teams in the UK and the resources that brings, as well as the freedom to develop and pursue areas of interest within Private Client matters.

About You

We are looking for a Senior Associate, with:

• A solid background of advising on, implementing and running complex wills, lifetime trusts, deeds of variation, powers of attorneys and estate administration;
• STEP qualified or working towards the STEP qualification;
• Be experienced in advising on lifetime IHT planning and on the taxation of trusts and estates and their general administration;
• Be able to demonstrate strong financial disciplines and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and external professionals;
• It would also be beneficial to have an aptitude for business development with established client and referrer relationships as well as a drive to continue to aid the growth and development of the wider team, and a good understanding of the Sheffield Private Client Market
