Grant Thornton (UK) is seeking motivated trainees to join our audit practice. You will work with a variety of clients, from household names to start-ups, building client relationships and developing expertise in audit and financial reporting.

You will gain hands-on experience from day one, with real data sets and practical testing to understand the business impact of findings. A proactive approach and strong communication are essential as you accelerate your career.

Responsibilities

• Audit ranging from household names to innovative start-ups, gaining broad exposure.
• Build client relationships and develop technical expertise in audit and financial reporting.
• Work with real data, select samples, gather evidence, and test for impact of errors.
• Apply professional judgement to policies and estimates used by clients.
• Analyse financial statements and review internal controls to understand money, risk and operations.
• Engage with leadership and contribute to continuous improvement within the audit team.

A look into the role

Audit is about giving people confidence in the numbers behind a business. As an auditor, you'll look closely at a company's financial records to check they're accurate and complete - work that investors, regulators, and the public all rely on. You'll get exposure to a wide range of clients and sectors, building the commercial awareness to understand how different businesses really operate.

As an auditor you will:

• Work with a variety of clients, from household names to innovative start-ups.
• Build strong client relationships, understand how each business operates and develop your technical expertise in audit and financial reporting
• Get hands-on from day one, working with real data sets, selecting samples, gathering evidence from clients, and testing it to assess the real-world impact of any errors on the business.
• Apply professional judgement to assess the policies and estimates clients adopt.
• Analyse financial statements and review internal controls, learning how companies manage money, risk and operations.
