Job summary

PwC UK in Scotland is seeking a tax professional to join our Private Tax team, advising privately owned businesses, high-net-worth individuals and private equity backed portfolio companies on UK and international tax matters. You will deliver complex advisory work while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to create holistic solutions.

The role emphasises building trusted relationships, staying up to date with evolving tax law, and coaching junior staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess an ACA and/or CTA qualification (or international equivalent).
• Relevant and up-to-date UK tax knowledge (and some overseas tax knowledge).
• Varied experience of more complex tax issues facing privately or family-owned businesses, private equity portfolio companies and business owners.
• Project management skills - able to manage several client projects simultaneously.
• Stakeholder management and coaching ethos.
• Excellent written communication - including reports, technical memos.

Responsibilities

• Ownership for a diverse and broad portfolio of client engagements, including privately owned and private equity portfolio companies advising on tax technical affairs.
• Developing significant market relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborating across the firm when delivering complex projects / events.
• Maintaining an expert level of relevant tax knowledge (both UK and overseas) staying including changes in tax law and legislation.

Collaboration with other areas of the business enables us to work holistically with clients to find solutions to achieve their plans.

You will be responsible for the delivery of tax advisory services which include managing all aspects of the client relationship with privately or family owned businesses, private equity portfolio companies and business owners on a broad range of complex matters. Projects will be varied and wide ranging working in close collaboration with national networks.

What Your Days Will Look Like
