Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support an integrated prison pharmacy service at HMP Frankland. You will assist with supply of medicines, supervise administration, and provide NHS services within your competency in a secure prison setting.

The role focuses on maintaining stock, following policies, and contributing to efficient procurement while safeguarding high safety standards in line with Medicines Act and NHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in supplying and administering medicines in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of NHS services and MHRA alert responses.
• Ability to work within locally approved policies and SOPs.
• Commitment to high security and safe pharmacy practice.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the timely and efficient supply of medicines to prisoners.
• Assist with procurement and stock control to minimise waste and maximise cost-effectiveness.
• Support review of repeat prescribing systems and implement improvements.
• Respond to major MHRA drug alerts and facilitate actions within prison healthcare.
• Undertake clinical audits and share outcomes to drive improvement.
