Job summary

An educational institution in Northern Ireland is seeking a PRISM Agri-Food Research & Innovation (R&I) Co-ordinator to lead innovation and sustainability initiatives within SMEs. The role requires a Level 5 or 3 qualification in Food or Drink Development, along with relevant experience. This is a temporary position for 3 years, predominantly based at SMEs' premises in Limavady. Competitive salary offered.

Job description
PRISM Agri-Food Research & Innovation (R&I) Co-ordinator

The post holder will act as an embedded R&I Co-ordinator Agri-Food, to lead innovation and decarbonisation activities within participating SMEs/Companies.

  • The post holder will co-design and embed strategies that drive measurable improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness across the participating SMEs.
  • The role will provide targeted, research-led support to a minimum of eight SMEs/companies within the Agri-Food sector, helping them identify and implement low-carbon solutions, sustainable practices, and process or product innovations.
  • Additionally, they will support the PRISM Agri-Food Cluster Manager and Foodovation Centre to ensure successful delivery of the PRISM programme.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Have at least a Level 5 qualification in the area of Food or Drink Development, Technology or Manufacturing AND at least 1 years experience in food and drink Development, Technology or Manufacturing with a keen interest in sustainable practices.
  • OR Have at least a Level 3 qualification in the area of Food or Drink Development, Technology or Manufacturing AND at least 3 years experience in food and drink Development, Technology or Manufacturing with a keen interest in sustainable practices.
  • Have current driving licence and access to a car. Applicants with a disability who have been prevented from obtaining a driving licence due to their disability (as defined by the DDA 1995) are eligible to apply
