A growing Wokingham-based business is looking for a Print Production and Design Assistant to join their small, friendly and collaborative team. Our client is seeking a hands‑on and detail‑oriented Print Production and Design Assistant to take ownership in this varied and rewarding role which will combine artwork setup, signage production, and contributing to continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for someone with good attention to detail, a 'can do' attitude, positive outlook, and the ability to multitask and prioritise. The ideal candidate should have some background in print and/or production and be comfortable using Adobe Illustrator.

The role is office-based in Wokingham, with the hours of 8:45 AM–5:30 PM Monday to Thursday and 8:45 AM–5:00 PM Friday. The hiring manager offers some flexibility around start and finish time which can be discussed with successful applicants. The salary on offer is up to £28k DOE.

Key Responsibilities for the Print Production and Design Assistant are:
  • Manage the production of all incoming safety sign orders.
  • Review artwork for accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
  • Create or amend signage designs using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Record and report on signage output and productivity.
  • Explore and propose process or equipment improvements in collaboration with suppliers and partners.
  • Operate and maintain digital printing and finishing equipment.
  • Perform quality checks and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Assemble, pack, and prepare printed items for dispatch.
  • Maintain documentation for print and production outputs.
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
  • Work closely with the Sales Desk, Production, and Labelling teams.
  • Provide flexible support to the wider Production team as needed.
Skills & Experience for the Print Production and Design Assistant are:
  • Experience in a production, printing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload independently.
  • Comfortable performing manual tasks while standing or sitting for long periods.
  • Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator.
