This is your opportunity to take technical ownership of world class electronic systems that operate where performance and reliability cannot fail. As Principal Electronics Design Engineer, you'll drive the development of next‑hardware for some of the most demanding applications in the industry. You'll combine deep hands‑on design expertise with system‑level thinking, leading projects from concept to production and setting the standard for technical excellence across the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full lifecycle design of complex mixed-signal electronics, from architecture definition through to manufacturing release
  • Specify and design high-speed digital and precision analogue circuits, power distribution, and FPGA interfaces
  • Oversee PCB design and layout, ensuring signal integrity, EMC compliance, and manufacturability
  • Define hardware architecture for embedded control, RF, and sensing applications
  • Support rigorous verification, validation, and environmental testing to military or aerospace standards (DO-254, DEF-STAN, MIL-STD)
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews, fault analysis, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor engineers, set design standards, and influence product roadmaps
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Degree-qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Proven track record in schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware design for high-reliability systems
  • High-speed digital design (DDR, Ethernet, LVDS, PCIe, USB, etc.)
  • Analogue front-end design (low-noise amplifiers, ADC/DAC integration, sensor conditioning)
  • Power electronics (DC‑DC converters, battery management, power integrity)
  • FPGA and microcontroller integration (Xilinx, Microchip, ARM)
  • EMI/EMC design and compliance testing
  • Design for harsh or ruggedised environments
  • Experience with Altium Designer, OrCAD, or Mentor Graphics
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, grounding, and thermal design principles
  • Familiarity with design assurance and documentation under aerospace or defence frameworks
Desirable
  • Exposure to RF design, radar, or high-frequency systems
  • Understanding of embedded software integration (C/C++ or VHDL awareness)
  • Experience in safety-critical development (DO-254, IEC 61508, ISO 26262)
